Overview
Ready to move beyond the traditional classroom? The NWACC Secondary Career Center (SCC) offers high school juniors and seniors a head start on high-demand, high-paying careers. Whether you want to enter the workforce immediately after graduation or gain hands-on skills before heading to a university, our programs provide the training and certifications you need—at no cost to you.
Why Choose the Secondary Career Center?

Zero Tuition & Fees: Through the SCC, your courses and certification fees are completely covered.

College Credit: Earn 6 to 12 college credit hours that apply toward technical certificates or associate degrees.

Industry Certifications: Graduate high school with professional credentials like CNA, EMT, or NCCER Construction certifications.

Hands-on Learning: Spend part of your school day in professional labs, using the same equipment used in the field.
Students must earn a C or better to receive college credit.
Students must earn a D or better to receive high school credit
Eligibility Information
Who is Eligible?
The program is open to rising junior, and senior students.
To be considered, you must:

Be enrolled here at HBHS.

Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA (Some specific programs may have additional requirements listed in the handbook).

Qualifying Test Scores

Accuplacer- Arithmetic: 222 & Reading: 224

ACT- Math: 16 & English: 10

Application dates for the 2026-2027 school year:

Application Window Opens: January 1st

Application Deadline: March 1st
Remember: All students, including those who are returning to the program, must submit a new application to be considered.
Steps to Apply

Concurrent Course Agreement: Complete Har-Ber Concurrent Course Agreement by March 6, 2026.

Help sessions will be scheduled during Prime Time.

You will receive a welcome email from NWACC with your new NWACC email

Follow instructions to set up your MyNWACC account

If you do not receive a welcome email within 72 hours of applying, please contact Mrs. Powers (kimberly.powers@sdale.org).

Return Signed HBHS CC Agreement to your house counselor (it will be emailed to you; student & parent can also give digital consent via email)

Complete Onboarding – Complete Onboarding with Workday

From www.nwacc.edu, login to “My NWACC”​

Sign-in to Workday and complete tasks in your Inbox (tip: refresh screen between tasks)

Contact your house counselor to request courses to be entered into HAC (must have completed Step 1, 2 and have qualifying test scores).

You will NOT register for classes through NWACC’s website. This will be done through Har-Ber High School.
