What is Concurrent Credit?
Concurrent credit allows high school students to earn college credit while completing their high school courses. Through partnerships with colleges like NWACC, students can take approved courses that count toward both their high school diploma and future college degree.

To participate, students must:
-
Submit a signed NWACC/HBHS Agreement.
-
Submit an ECE application to NWACC.
-
Meet qualifying test requirements (ACT, Accuplacer, or other approved assessments).
Why Take Concurrent Credit?
Under the Arkansas ACCESS to Acceleration (A2A) Scholarship, there is NO COST to students for concurrent credit courses taken in high school—including tuition, fees, textbooks, and required materials—for up to 15 college credits per semester (30 credits per school year)!
Research shows that students who take concurrent credit courses are more likely to succeed in college. These students often have higher college GPAs, complete degrees faster, and are more likely to persist from year to year compared to peers who don’t take college-level courses in high school. Concurrent credit also helps students develop strong study habits, time management skills, and confidence in tackling college-level coursework—all while earning high school and college credit at the same time.
